その答えの一つが、テクノロジーの力で負担を少しでも減らし、快適性を損なわないことでした。これからの20年を見据え、社会の一端を支えられる準備を始めたのです。

最初に取り組んだのは、機械的に人を支えるのではなく、人を中心に、快適に支援できる構造を生み出すことでした。重力に逆らわず、最短で使えるシンプルな機構を目指し、さらに身体構造に沿った安全な動作を実現することを追求しました。

ベッドを使用する習慣はサイドから侵入し、サイドに降りるのが基本です。
介助の作業も同じくベッドサイドから手を伸ばして使うのが基本になります。そこでいかにベッドボードを自在にサイドへ傾け、ポジションの自由度を増やすか、介護する人も介護される人にとっても身体の負担をどうやったら減らせるか、ということに着眼して開発を進めていったのです。

こうして辿り着いたのが、上下2分割構造による揺り籠式のサイド傾斜機構です。この構造は、揺り籠のように心地よくベッド面が横へ傾き、移乗の際には人が人を持ち上げる必要がなく、軽やかなトランスファーが可能になります。上下2分割のボードは身体の自然な捻れに寄り添い、やさしく脚をベッドサイドへ導いてくれます。

With the next two decades in mind, we began laying the groundwork to support society in a sustainable and meaningful way. Our focus was not simply to create a device that mechanically supports the body, but to create a human-centered structure that naturally provides comfort to users through assisting. We sought a simple mechanism that works with gravity, operates intuitively with minimal effort, while ensuring safe movements aligned with the natural structure of human body. This vision led to the development of a cradle-inspired lateral tilting mechanism with a vertically divided dual-board structure. The bed surface gently inclines to the side like a cradle, enabling smooth transfers without requiring anyone to lift the user. The two-section board adapts to the body’s natural rotation, guiding the legs softly and safely toward the bedside. By enabling multidimensional positioning without forcing unnatural postures, the bed significantly reduces physical strain.
